Cancer is a genetic disease which is caused by changes to the genes that control the way our cells function, grow and divide. There are more than 100 types of cancer and cancer can form almost anywhere in the human body.
Cancer is the second leading cause of death and is by far a major public health concern worldwide. It is estimated that in 2018, over 1,700,000 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States alone and over 600,000 people will die from the disease.
With the advances in science and technology and with the efforts of cancer research institutes across America, the number of cancer survivors is expected to increase to 20.3 million by 2026. This number can only be achieved by the continuous support and donations of the millions of Americans like you, that make it all possible.
